Even More Fun Family Activities In and Around TorontoWe got such a great reception for our last list of fun things to do around Toronto that we’re doing it again!  Toronto is filled with fun activities and events to do for the entire family, and some of them are nearly as good as Kids Fun City!

Nearly, that is.

Here are three more of our favorite places to go with families here in the Toronto area, outside of Kids Fun City, of course!

Ontario Science Centre

The Ontario Science Centre is huge, and there are tons of activities and exhibits to experience!  The big draw of the Science Centre is that it’s very hands-on and interactive, making it a great way to spend a full day.   KidSpark activities are designed for children under eight, with plenty of science activities, animal encounters, stories and scavenger hunts that will keep kids fascinated and excited.  The IMAX films are always a great draw, as well – and perhaps the most fun adults can have at the museum.  There’s something for kids of all ages here, and it’s an absolute blast.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

Black Creek is a great day out, especially when the weather is nice.  There are tons of interactive and educational activities to take advantage of, live animals to encounter, musical instruments to try and trades and crafts to experience.  It’s a step back in time and a fascinating way to learn about the history of Toronto and the surrounding area.

Escape Rooms

A recent big trend in entertainment is the escape room.  You go to one of these rooms and are locked in, and have to solve puzzles and decipher clues to escape again.  Not all escape rooms are family friendly, but more and more have begun to get in on the idea so the entire family can enjoy the experience.  Looking Glass Adventures on the East End is one such room, challenging you to solve the mystery of a break-in.  While two adults are required in every party, they do welcome families; most of the puzzles will also appeal to children and there is no disturbing or scary content to worry about.  It’s better for a family day out rather than a birthday party with tons of kids – a good ratio of adults to kids is recommended – but it’s definitely an experience that’s more than suitable for kids.
