When it comes to food, finding the right meal for your kids can be daunting. Some kids can eat you out of house and home while others have very particular tastes. Our Kids Fun City team came up with this list of easy and quick favorite kid foods. Check out these fun recipes!

Fun Kid Foods

Every parent knows that kids and food can be unpredictable. One day they might absolutely love your homemade flatbread pizza and the next day they only want to eat raisins all day. How can a parent cope? Hopefully you will find the perfect recipe with this list of favorite kid foods. You don’t need to be a gourmet chef to keep your kids happy!

Flatbread Pizza

  • Flatbread, pita or tortilla
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pizza Toppings (optional)

This is a great recipe to make with your kids. Simply scoop a few spoonfuls of jar spaghetti sauce onto a flatbread, pita bread, or tortilla. Cover with mozzarella cheese and add a sprinkle two of Italian Seasoning. Add pizza toppings. Throw in the oven at medium heat for 10 minutes. Watch the pizza. It’s done when it’s toasty and the cheese melts. You can also do this in the microwave for about 45 seconds.

Easy Quesadilla

  • Tortilla or flat bread
  • Salsa (Optional)
  • Cheddar Cheese

If your child likes salsa, spoon a small amount onto the flatbread or tortilla. Spread the salsa thinly. Cover liberally with cheese. Toss in the microwave for 45 seconds or bake at medium heat for 10 minutes.

Peanut Butter “Sushi” Rolls

  • Tortillas
  • Peanut Butter
  • (Optional) Jelly or Honey

Spread your peanut butter all over the tortilla. If you want, add a spoonful of jelly or honey. When you have finished. Roll the tortilla tightly. Use a knife to cut the roll into small “sushi”-like pieces.

Buffalo Mac N Cheese

  • Box Mac N Cheese
  • Cut Cooked Chicken Pieces
  • Hot Sauce

Fix the Mac N Cheese according to the box instructions. Mix in pieces of cooked chicken and a couple of tablespoons of mild hot sauce. You can mix in more if your child likes spicy food.

Anything Tacos

  • Tortillas or Hard Taco Shells
  • Leftover meat (ex. Chicken or hamburgers, or beans for a vegetarian taco)
  • Salsa
  • Optional Sour Cream
  • Optional Lettuce or Greens

The beauty of tacos is that you can make almost anything a taco. All you need is a filling like leftover hamburger meat, chicken, or chickpeas. Then add cheese, salsa, and toppings like sour cream. Heat it up in the microwave and you have an easy lunch!

When possible, have your kids help you make their lunch. They will love adding their own ingredients. Make lunch a fun memory for each of you!
